A short coastal drive from the historic village of Mendocino.

Water Tower
Retreat
Nested in the redwood forest is the Water Tower. A refurbished space that offers up a tiny home-type experience. Up to three guests can stay here, although it's ideal for two. There is a queen-size bed in the lofted bedroom and a comfy day bed in the living area for hanging out. There is a small kitchen and a relaxing bathroom rain shower.

Camping Hut
The Camping Hut is located in the middle forest and is designed to provide guests with a rustic, yet comfortable experience. There is a plush queen-size bed appointed with soft beddings and a propane heater to keep things nice and warm. For a unique bathing experience there is a private outdoor bathtub with shower, as well as a modern compost toilet.

Plan Your Visit
WHAT TO BRING
Warm clothes for layers, as summers can be chilly on the coast
Bring some slippers to lounge around and a headlamp is always helpful for coming home after dark.
Our retreats are set-up and fully furnished with a warm gas heater for a good night’s sleep. Both baths are fully stocked with organic bath products for your hot showers, and we supply bath towels too.

Pre-planning is a good idea. With limited seating, make sure to check their hours or book ahead for all restaurants and wine tasting.

I won’t spoil any surprises with specifics, but if you have the opportunity to go, do. The hosts know what they’re doing in every aspect of the place; the only downside was dragging myself out the door at the end of the stay.”
Shinrin-Yoku.
In Japanese Shinrin means “forest” and Yoku means “bath.” Shinrin-Yoku or “forest bathing”, is to simply soak in a forest atmosphere, taking in nature through your senses.We hope this place helps you to feel relaxed while you are here and revived after your stay.
The Property
Our forest retreat property is shared with our home and both of our retreats. Both rental units are very private and have their own dedicated outdoor area for guests use.
Our Little
Town of Elk, CA
Is very small, but beautiful. A great place for a hike down to the beach or along the coastline. Stop by the Elk Store for a wonderful sandwich or a variety of snacks, wine, or cheese :) Queenie’s Roadhouse offers a great option for breakfast or lunch. A nicely curated store Matson Mercantile and don’t forget to check out our Elk Museum :)
Location
The closest airport offering regularly scheduled service is Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS). It’s located in Santa Rosa about an hour’s drive (55 miles) from Ukiah and a two hour drive from the Village of Mendocino. Car rental from the airport is available.
International travelers to Mendocino County can fly in to San Francisco, Oakland and Sacramento International Airports, each of which are located about 2-3 hours from the county, depending on your destination.
Visitors with private planes or access to charters can fly into:
